The Blueprint to Help Assistant Principals Move Beyond Discipline-Driven Roles, Demonstrate Readiness, and Position Themselves for Promotion to Principalship.Â
Facilitated by:Â Dr. Bobbie Mills
- Date: Friday, June 26, 2026
- Time: 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
- Location:Â TABBRIS Innovation Center, 1300 South Blvd, Unit D, Charlotte, NC 28203
Why You Need This
"Remaining stuck in discipline-heavy responsibilities and reactive leadership won’t position you for the principalship no matter how hard you work."
 Why You Entered Leadership:
- Influence instruction
- Shape school culture
- Lead vision and strategy
- Make a broader impact on students and staff
The Reality of the Role:
- Discipline
- Crisis management
- Logistics
- Constant reaction
And while those responsibilities matter, they are not what hiring committees prioritize when selecting the next principal.
You know you want more in terms of your career fulfillment.
You are ready to move beyond simply supporting someone else’s vision and begin preparing to lead your own school.
You understand that becoming principal-ready requires more than experience. It requires intentional positioning.
Demonstrating the RIGHT leadership moves helps you to:
Build visibility as a strategic, schoolwide leader
Increase your credibility as an instructional authority
Strengthen your voice in decision-making spaces
Expand your influence beyond discipline and operations
Position you as a viable successor when principal opportunities arise
And if this is you, you are in the RIGHT place!
Who is this for?
Who is this not for?
-
This workshop is designed for assistant principals at all levels and school types who are often immersed in discipline, crisis, and reactive responsibilities, yet aspire to lead schools and are not currently being prepared, positioned, or recognized as principal-ready leaders.
-
It is for assistant principals who are capable, experienced, and committed, but who find themselves defined by discipline, crisis response, and operational cleanup instead of leadership development.
-
It is especially for those who know they want the principal role but feel unsure how to demonstrate readiness because their day-to-day work keeps them out of leadership conversations.
-
This workshop is not for assistant principals who are satisfied remaining in a discipline-focused, operational role and have no desire to expand their leadership influence.
-
This workshop is not for assistant principals who are looking for quick fixes or shortcuts rather than intentionally developing the leadership mindset and behaviors required for the principalship.
-
This workshop is not for assistant principals who are waiting for promotion to happen automatically through time or tenure rather than intentionally positioning themselves for the principalship.
Here’s a breakdown of what you will learn during this workshop:
01
You will learn 7 strategies on how to shift your presence, confidence, and decision-making so you are seen as principal-ready.
02
Create a culture where expectations are modeled, shared ownership is empowered, and teams are unified around a clear vision so you are seen as a schoolwide leader and not just support.
03
Master confident coaching, growth-centered follow-up, and results-driven facilitation so you are seen as a principal-level instructional leader.

Meet Your Instructor:
Dr. Bobbie Mills
Dr. Bobbie Mills is an educational consultant and leadership coach committed to helping assistant principals rise into the role of effective, impactful principals. With a career that began in the classroom, she has served as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and district-level leader, giving her a comprehensive perspective on what it truly takes to lead schools with vision and impact.
She is the CEO and Founder of Elevated Vision Educational Consulting, which is a company helping assistant principals move out of reactive discipline roles by developing principal-ready skills so they can confidently lead their own schools.
Dr. Mills’s mission is rooted in her own journey as a school leader who once felt unseen in the role of assistant principal. She now empowers others to claim visibility, complement their principal’s vision while building their own, and lead through impact rather than position. Her driving belief is simple— the assistant principal role should prepare leaders, not stall them.
She knows what assistant principals are expected to carry, what they are rarely taught, and what they are quietly judged on when promotion decisions are made.
She does not teach theory. She teaches what works inside real schools, with real constraints, and real stakes for students and educators.
Dr. Mills holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from the University of South Carolina Upstate, a Master of Arts degree in Education from Winthrop University, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.
